Subject Access Request
Thanet District Council provides a wide range of services to many people. We may record information about you and the services you receive. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) you have the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you and, unless an exemption applies, to receive a copy of that information. To help us deal promptly with your request and to satisfy legal requirements placed on us to ensure the identity of data subjects, please enclose with this form:
- Proof of identity. Satisfactory proof of identity includes a photocopy of: your birth certificate, marriage or civil partnership certificate, driving licence and passport. If none of these are available then please contact the Information Governance Team for advice on other acceptable forms of identification.
- The information requested is mostly provided free of charge. However, there are occasions where we may charge some amount to cover our administration.
We will respond to your enquiry within one calendar month of receipt of your form.
To provide this service Thanet District Council will collect and process personal information. We may check some of the information with other sources (e.g. government departments and other councils) to verify your identity and ensure that the information you have provided is accurate.
Your personal information is being processed because it is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.
